When one of the UK’s top cameramen was commissioned to shoot broadcast quality video of a forthcoming ascent of Mount Everest he knew he had a real technical challenge on his hands.
The plan was to equip three Sherpas with head cams. This would enable them to transmit footage of the ascent back to the satellite dishes on the outside of the edit tent a few thousand feet below, via wireless microwave transmitters.
This prompted an urgent call to Coax Connectors. The need was for top quality connectors that would link the antennas on the microwave transmitters AND stand up to the intense operating conditions encountered at 29,000 feet!
